Victoria Beckham has given an insight into her couple’s workout with her husband, David.
In a series of snaps shared to her Instagram Stories, the 48 year old former Spice Girl informed her social media followers that she was in the “strength training phase” of her exercise regime as she posed for a mirror selfie in a state-of-the-art gym.
With one leg stretched up against her torso, Victoria looked fit and healthy as she showed off her toned, tanned physique in a black sports bra and matching leggings.
“I’m in my strength training phase!” Victoria, who recently enjoyed a salsa date night, began in the caption. “Before and after every session, it’s key to mobilise and stretch. Recovery is as important as the work itself!”
In the following post, former footballer David, 47, made a cheeky shirtless appearance in the background through a mirror reflection, which Victoria was sure to point out by tagging him alongside two crying with laughter emojis.
Meanwhile, in the snap, the brunette looked focused as she took on some tricep dips. Explaining the next stage of her workout, Victoria wrote: “I follow with my training session, which I vary day to day to focus on different areas of my body.
“Today I’m working on my upper body strength with a combination of resistance-based exercises.”
Victoria went on to note that fitness wasn’t just all about exercise but how you fuel your body. She shared a snap of a protein powder, a handful of almonds and bananas, writing: “My post-gym shake! I use @puorilife protein shake after every workout.”
She then continued: “It helps to aid muscle recovery and growth, and I love that this one is minimally processed with no GMO, pesticides and hormones.”
Uploading a snap of a delicious-looking chickpea and tuna salad, the fashion designer explained that the meal was “super easy and filling.”
Victoria has been hitting the gym hard with David lately and has always ensured to document it on her Instagram account. However, working out with her other half wasn’t always the case.
Up until 2019, Victoria had been doing the same 90 minutes workout every day, but over time the lasting benefits were becoming less and less obvious.
“It was becoming apparent to her that the benefits from her own training routines had become minimal,” Victoria’s personal trainer Bobby Rich told Women’s Health UK.
With a bit of help from the star trainer, Victoria soon discovered she had a keen interest in weight lifting and began to incorporate that into her routine, alongside plank games and other strength training experiences with David.
